Acclimatisation

Wood is a natural product that, from one season to the next, will expand and shrink as humidity rises and falls.

Although flooring is dried down to an optimum moisture content, it will still be necessary to acclimatise a new floor in the environment in which it is to be installed.

Note that even more care needs to be exercised with under floor heating (UFH).

On-site consideration needs to be given to:

• pre-delivery situation
• storing in-situ
• laying preparation
• fixing
• sanding
• sealing
• protection during final fixing
