Flooring specifications

• All boards are cut to width and machined before checking and measuring.
• The finished flooring is then kept until delivery in a conditioned store, which is both heated and ventilated.
• Whippletree secures consistent moisture content for its cut timber. The result? Better stability than is generally the norm.

Wide board, hand-finished

• Wide oak and elm boards (between 200 and 400mm wide) with attractive grain patterns are specially selected for hand-finishing.
• The board’s surface is treated by hand to retain the natural contours that arise from the seasoning process. The result is flooring with an opulent and highly distinctive, traditional look.
• Profile – half-lapped.
• These boards produce a ‘time-worn’ floor effect, with the slightly uneven surface that we commonly associate with older properties.
