Learn the history of Whippletree
As a business Whippletree has been established for over 20 years. Originally founded in 1989 to handle forestry contracting, it evolved almost organically, into the present specialist supplier of native Oak, with over 75,000 cu. feet of quality timber in stock.
From its start the founder’s traditional Cambridgeshire agricultural background ensured the Company did not confine itself to just harvesting trees, but to replanting them as well...
Trace your wood from sapling to product
Whippletree insist on purchasing trees at stump from a guaranteed origin which have an official Forestry Commission felling license. Each tree is tagged with a unique reference number in the forest, which stays with each section that is subsequently cut from the log until it is delivered as a final product.
This means the product can be supplied with a traceability certificate and sometimes even photos of the woodland from whence it came. This information and identification remains with the timber at every point in the production cycle from stump to finish product.
